In – inside, Vest – clothing that protects self, Ment – mentality. Didn’t mean to spell it out for ya, but hey…
Making sure that you are protected and your future is sustainable has always been the cornerstone of existence.
We’ve seen that we have been investing in ourselves from as far back as we can remember, it’s just that we don’t know it yet. At some stage you were aimlessly consuming and wasting and did not even second guess these actions, it was just a part of you. Now it’s time to invest in yourself and facilitate growth.
Here we will have a look at the 3 main ways of how we can invest which will help you stay protected and ensure that you are prepared for the future.
For Self
Up until about our mid 20s (the age human beings reach full mental maturity) we have been zombified, just doing what we like or think we like. Then comes self awareness, recognising our consciousness and now aim to make use of it to benefit self. After which we begin to formulate a ‘mind compass’ and add a bit more direction in our lives. We take charge by doubling down and nurturing the skills we have acquired during our zombified state. You may have developed some cooking skills. If you enjoy this you may become a chef, using your skill to give you earnings. You may see a viable career through this and may decide to enhance the skill through further studies, research and experiments.
If by all means you don’t have any skills or you don’t like the ones you’ve been equipped with, explore some. You can invest in self by reading, attending workshops or watching other skills in motion for inspiration.
For Others
Eventually we aim to be part of a singularity, where we recognise each life including your own to be equivalent to another. We aim to be part of a community with a purpose that brings about many other ways because of this purpose. You may be able to identify how the skill you were using to care for self can also be used to benefit the community.
Using the same analogy, your cooking skills can be used to serve the community for those who don’t have food. You can lead workshops for those who aren’t as confident as you in cooking and possibly inclusion of diversity in recipes and methods may also widen the community.
The World
By taking care of yourself and the community you are subsequently taking care of the world. With singularity part of the awareness, we aim to be part of a unit that can be an unstoppable force and bring forth a world or way of life that will continue to serve a purpose regardless of lifespans and lifestyles.
As you’ve been nurturing your cooking skills and meeting others along the same path, you may be able to contribute to the world by encouraging change in global nourishment; being part of teams that tackle world hunger and malnutrition.
We see how through investing in self others and the world we experience growth and facilitate protection of our future and subsequently our mentality
What skills do you have and how do you use them to benefit the world?
